You can find joy in this new journey called parenthood.

Do you want to understand your emotions and be able to embrace your new role as a parent?

Pregnancy and postpartum can often feel like an emotional rollercoaster. Instead of the joy and excitement you expected, you may be experiencing persistent sadness and anxiety. These feelings can lead to detachment and uncertainty, bringing with them guilt and self-doubt. You might even be questioning your ability to be a parent. It’s common to grieve your pre-parenthood life and long to feel like yourself again.

Some specific feelings and challenges you might be facing include:

  • You may be experiencing feelings of intense anger or emptiness

  • You are constantly worried about the baby’s health and well-being

  • You might be having difficulty bonding with your baby or feel a sense of indifference towards them

  • Despite having a support network, you feel completely alone in your experience

It’s important to remember that it is okay to feel this way. Together, we will navigate this change and find a path to feeling like yourself again.

Take charge of your relationship to parenthood.

How Perinatal & Postpartum Therapy Work

In our sessions, we’ll begin by exploring and identifying the wide range of emotions you’re experiencing. This might include feelings of sadness, anxiety, rage, or guilt. Understanding these feelings is the first step towards managing them effectively. I’ll guide you in learning how to acknowledge your emotions without judgment and guilt, helping you see that it’s okay to feel what you’re feeling.

I’ll help you identify negative thoughts about your parenting or your baby and challenge them, reframing them in a more positive and realistic light. We may work on strategies to prioritize self-care, ensuring you find balance and take time for yourself, as well as exploring ways to strengthen the connection between you and your baby. My goal is to create a supportive and understanding space where you can navigate the challenges of postpartum mental health.
